Cover for the PS2, but I'm working on the PC version Hi, I've being working on a translation for this game with a few other people and we've being successful at "translating" the parts of the game that were already translated on the western release, but we're lacking people with knowledge in Japanese to help us translate the Power-Up Kit part. So, I'd like to know if anybody here in the forum would be interested on translating this title. It's worth noting that no technical knowledge will be necessary to help us out. If nobody is interested on really joining and doing translations, it would still be very nice if we got help with at least some more wordy messages, so please, let me know if you're interested and how much you're willing to do. On this link you'll find links to download the translation as it currently is (still incomplete). If you're interested and want to join the project it'd be easier for us to communicate on that forum.

Actually, they're translating PC version. It's just the image he used belongs to PS2 version made us confused. @Gattamelata : please tell me more about your translation project, 'cause I think CaoShang's patch already translated about 90% of total work.
Correct, it's a translation for the PC version. I should've used the correct image. Well, CaoShang's was the first patch and very helpful at the time, but it was also very lacking, having several unintelligible texts. Over the years, other people made some improvements to the translation, but it was still very lacking, specially when it comes down to MSGs (the actual dialogs). So I've started this project in an attempt to make a better translation. Here are some differences/improvements: 1- new translation was patched to 1.1.1 (official link and more about it) 2- San11PK.exe, Scenario.s11 and Scen0XX.s11 have being further translated/improved (and made closer to the western release) 3- S11MSG0X.s11 are being translated based on the official western release. We also intend to translate the PUK parts and that's why I'm searching people who knows japanese willing to help throughout the internet (which brought me to gamevn.com) 4- TS00000X.s11 and TS0000XX.s11 have being translated for the first time 5- As a bonus, two exclusive scenarios for the PS2 with PUK version were ripped and translated by me (movies too) In fact, not a single file from CaoShang's patch is in use anymore, they have all been replaced. It seems one post about SIRE disappeared.
I see. So this english patch is for update patch 1.1.1 and you use RTK11 Official English version as a reference to translate. About the japanese, most of us use online dictionary and google to translate. I don't know what I can help you but if you need help, please list the works that you need help. I went to your topic in the-scholars.com but I don't know what the work is if I join your project 'cause all the work you listed are doing by someone.
Kind of, I've applied the 1.1.1 patch before translating, so we're translating everything, including the 1.1.1 patch. By using this english patch you'll automatically be using 1.1.1 too. Yes, we're using RTK11 Official English version as a reference to translate, but we're about to reach a point where only PUK japanese stuff is left to translate. Any help would be appreciated. Some things that you could do (with google and dictionary): - Translating force descriptions on some scenarios (Scen009.s11 and Scen011.s11 to Scen015.s11 still need to be translated) - Translating PUK part of MSGs (this should ideally be done by people who know japanese, but you could translate simpler messages) - Playtest and point out messages that are wrong/misplaced (by the way anyone using this translation is invited to do so) The more we can divide the work, the faster and more likely we'll complete it.
Well, Aparently I think that was not a bad idead , but In Viet Nam we already translate everything into Vietnamese by used patch of Hải Thần , ofcourse mostly based on CaoShang 's Patch but everything seem great with 95% Complete may be you want to discuss with him to improve your patch. P/S : If i don't misunderstood you was one of fans of Valkyrie Profile right ?
That's too bad, but if most people aren't interested on the patch, why would Hải Thần be? Do you know where I can find people to help me?
